Joe Miotke is Co-Chair of DeWitt LLP’s nationally recognized Intellectual Property Litigation Group and a licensed patent attorney. He has represented clients from Boston to Los Angeles in intellectual property litigation and transactional matters. These matters involved technologies ranging from artificial intelligence and machine learning to energy production and hydraulic fracturing. Providing leadership in the Wisconsin and United States IP community, he is a Past-President of the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Law Association and served as the National Chair for IP Basic Education for the Licensing Executives Society (“LES”), one of the world’s largest organizations for IP professionals. Joe is likewise a leader in Wisconsin’s legal, education, and entrepreneurship communities. He has been appointed by two Wisconsin Governors and confirmed by the Wisconsin Senate to serve on the Wisconsin State Public Defender Board. Serving as the Statewide Leadership Chair for Project Lead The Way Wisconsin, he guides one of the largest k-12 science, technology, engineering, and math (“STEM”) education programs in the United States. Through service on the Board of Directors for BizStarts, a Milwaukee-based nonprofit, he provides education and mentorship services to entrepreneurs from underserved communities.
Joe earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Marquette University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Marquette University Law School.
